Named after ownership (my) and Kantamanto, a popular market place in Accra-Ghana, “mykanta” stands for “my social and business community”.
The initial name for mykanta was HIPI (Currently the Registered Company Name) which is an Albanian word and means to rise, after researching into the name and how people perceived it, the team decided to go for rather a home-grown name that will be easy to understand worldwide.

The concept behind the platform originated from Samuel Rudolph Edwards in his late days at college, he vision a world where people will easily be informed about what is happening to other people around the world. Among the lots reasons, He created mykanta for:
- Provide users the opportunity after signing up to connect to people and interact with their experiences, communicate, share business links, see what their connections are buying, the businesses they buy from or interact with, businesses they subscribe to, Etc.
- Give businesses the opportunity to create and promote their E-Commerce business page. They are then able to promote their products or services with online and offline sales features, communicate with their subscribers as well as signed up users, and build their brand image on the site.

1. Reevs?

The act of sharing an experience with people on your timeline. There are two ways of sharing Reevs, these are GIF Reeving and Text Reeving

Capture or select single or multiple images to create one image called GIF.

Collection is a tab that hold all and only your Reevs as you share them.

Activities are things you, your connections, business you subscribe perform on the platform.
5. Business Page?

Be it product or services oriented, mykanta business page is an administrative page that gives the admins features to operate their business directly online.
6. Order?

Orders refer to the act of requesting for a product from a business to supply to you.
7. Connections?

"Connections” are people you build relationship with, be it; social, business, cordial etc.
8. Followers?

Followers refer to the people who request connection to you and want to receive Reevs from you in their timeline.
9. Following?

Whenever you connect to people you automatically follow them and start to receive their Reevs in your timeline, when they accept your request, they become a connection of yours.
10. Subscription?

Subscription refers to the act of following a business, once you subscribe to a business, you begin to receive the business feed in your activities timeline.

Feedback – As a user use the feedback form (located at your user dropdown menu) to send us any form of problem you face while using the platform.

Do I have to pay money before using Mykanta? Is it true that Mykanta will charge once I start using the site?
Mykanta Social is free and will never require you to pay to continue to use the site. However, you have the option of making purchases from businesses and other related contents or items. Please keep in mind that you'll be responsible for any fees associated with internet usage as determined by your mobile carrier.

How old must I be before signing up for Mykanta social account?
You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to sign up for Mykanta.

Can I create multiple Mykanta accounts?
Mykanta Social is a community where true identities of people are used, it’s against Mykanta Social policy to manage more than one account.
NOTE:You can create a business page on Mykanta after sign up or whenever you log in; administer the page and promote your business. The business page is distinct from your profile page.
Creating your New Mykanta Account
How to Sign Up...-
To sign up to Mykanta, please follow the steps below:
- Full name (first name, middle name and/or other name)
- User name
- Date of birth
- Email address
- Password and confirm the entered password

Go to mykanta.com on your web browser.
Locate and select sign up button and enter the following details:
After successful registration, you will need to confirm your account. An email will be sent to your email address to enable you confirm your account.
Note: If you do not receive a confirmation email, get help from Mykanta.

To connect to people:
-
First select your list of interest the very first time you signup
Identify and "connect" to people from the suggested list of people who share similar interest with you.

Use the search bar to find people you may know.
Select the “people” tab to view the person you are looking for.
View profile page to connect to the person.
Locate a connection in your connection tab at profile page Select a connection to view his or her page
Select “Connection Tab” to view that persons connections Identify the person you want to connect to and connect.

Before Sharing your Experience…
Mykanta allows you to capture your experiences in motion, by capturing multiple images and creating a GIF image, then narrate the experience and add a title to it to make it catchy.
You can also share your experiences without an image or even share an experience with only one image.

To share a GIF experience, select the “GIF Creator” icon
Select the “Camera Icon to select and add images.
Once you add all the images, select “Create GIF” to create your new GIF image
Narrate your experience in the text box and select “Next” Add a title of your Reev (Optional) and select “REEV” to share your experience. NB:
- Select “Clear all” to remove all uploaded images,
- Select “Undo” to remove the most recent uploaded image.
- Select “Cancel” to close the modal box.

Mykanta allows you to receive update from subscribed business pages, once you subscribe to a page, you will immediately receive update on products additions, comments updates, and many more.
Here is how to subscribe to a business page…
- Type the key word in the search bar, press enter to search
- Locate the “Business Tab” to find the business you’re looking for;

Locate of find a business you want to subscribe to;

Select “Subscribe” to subscribe to the business page.

Mykanta allows you to send private and secured messages to your connections and businesses and vice versa.
Messaging or Chatting With Businesses….
To chat with a business administrator;
- Option 1
- On profile page, select “connect tab”
- Locate and select the user name to go to user page.
- Option 2
- On “Reev” timeline
- Locate connection Post and select name to go to page.
- Generally…. You can find connections by finding their activities on your profile page. Select their name to go to their profile page.

First locate the business page (refer to “how to find a business”);
Select the Chat bar at the lower Right hand Conner of the page;
Enter your message to send as a message or start a chat with the business administrator should they be online.

First time sending a message to a connection….
Go to the connection page by either one of this ways;
Select the “send message” button to open the message input box.
Type and send your message to the connection.

Mykanta allows users to get interactive by allow commenting feature at the following sections on the platform;
- Reevs (Experiences)
- Business pages and;
- Product pages

On profile timeline, locate the “comment” icon associated with every Reev
Use the input bar to enter your comment
Select the “comment” button to post your comment.
Commenting or Sharing an Experience on a Business Page

Go to desired business page you want to comment on;
Locate the “Input box for commenting or sharing of experiences”
Type in the comment or experience into the input box;
Select “Post” to share your experience with the world.
Commenting or Sharing an Experience on a Product;

Go to the preferred product page….(refer to how to find products)
Locate the “Input box for commenting or sharing of experiences”
Type in the comment or experience into the input box;
Select “Post” to share your experience with the world.
Note: Commenting on business pages can only be replied by the business administrator. Commenting and sharing business or product experiences must comply with the terms of the platform.
Mykanta Business Page
General questions about mykanta business community, guide to get your way around, and tips on how to use mykanta platform.-
Creating a business page on Mykanta can sometimes be challenging, however should you follow the following steps and procedures, creating a business page can be done with ease.
NB: if you already have Mykanta account, skip Step 1 and Login with your accounts details
Step 1(New Member);
- i. Full name (first name, middle name and/or other name)
- ii. User name
- iii. Date of birth
- iv. Email address
- v. Password and confirm the entered password
- i. Business Name
- ii. Select your business type
- iii. Select business Country
- iv. Describe your business
- v. Select business Country (Currently limited to Ghana only)
- vi. Select Business region or state
- vii. Select City where your business is located
- viii. Enter Business location
- ix. Enter business telephone number
- x. Enter Business email address
- xi. Enter Business website
- xii. Select delivery Option that suit your business
- xiii. Enter your core product or services: e.g. Laptops, Kente, SUV, Salon Cars, Home theatres, Television set. Etc.

Go to mykanta.com on your web browser or with Mykanta Android app.
Locate and select the “signup” Button on the Index page
Create a user account by entering the following details;

On the Page Header, locate and select your user menu (highlighted by your user icon) at the top left Conner
Locate and select Create Page, then add the following details;

NB: To add products to your business page, you must ensure that, the page created is a “Product oriented” page,
- i. Full Product Name
- ii. Manufacturer
- iii. Product option
- iv. price
- v. Available Stock Quantity
- vi. Minimum order a Client can buy
- vii. Product Description
- viii.Colour of product
- ix. Select the condition of product.
- x. Add product main image
- xi. Add additional images (if any)

On the “Overview” Tab, locate Product and services overview;
Locate and select “Add product/services”;
Add the following product details to add a product:
Save Options:
Save and “Add new”: Select this option to save the current product and add another product to your business page.
Save and “Edit Product”: Select this option to save the current product and edit it, you can add additional options (up to 5) change or correct errors, add more images, etc.
Save and “Exit”: Select this option to save the current product and Exit to your business page.

Mykanta business page creation can be done once by every user.
- Right after the registration, the business page must be verified and inspected by Mykanta Assessment Team within three (3) weeks.

On the “Overview” Tab, locate Product and services overview;
- i. Full Service Name
- ii. Describe the Service in details
- iii. Add service main image
- iv. Add additional images (if any)
Locate and select “Add product/services”;
Add the following services details to add a service:
Save and “Add new”: Select this option to save the current product and add another product to your business page.
Save and “Edit Product”: Select this option to save the current product and edit it, you can add additional options (up to 5) change or correct errors, add more images, etc.
Save and “Exit”: Select this option to save the current product and Exit to your business page.
Mykanta business page allows you to manage your business directly online, receive orders, share business social Activities, chat with clients and many more. Suitable for Product Oriented and Services Oriented businesses under any type of business category.
It is free to create a business page on Mykanta.
However you are entitle to verify your business page within three (3) week after creating the Page. TnC apply.
NB: Mykanta conduct Verification of businesses to ensure that only genuine businesses are able to do business and inform users about the business activities.
You can verify your Business Page in two ways.
Option 1:

On the “Overview” Tab, locate Verification overview;
Locate and select “Verify Page”;
On the “Overview” Tab, locate Verification overview;
A Enter a four digit security code (security code);
Option 2:

On the “Info” Tab, locate Verification status;
Select “Verify Page”;
Select the type of Verification for your business;
Enter a four digit security code (security code);
